Grimes County

District Courtroom:  The Grimes County Courthouse was built in 1893 and renovated a few years ago.  The District Courtroom retains much of the look and feel of the historic courthouse.  Hardwood floors, gallery benches and furnishings, as well as the stamped tin ceiling, lends itself to a dignified and historic setting.

The District Courtroom is equipped with an open WiFi network that is sufficient for most applications.  Table microphones are available, and often needed, due to acoustical issues within the courtroom.  Limited audio-visual applications are available and attorneys are encouraged to provide their own equipment.  Please coordinate the use of such items through the Court Coordinators or the Courts during Pretrial conferences.

There are limited copier facilities available.  Prior coordination for other than minimal copier support should be provided by counsel or coordinated through the office of the District Clerk.

Annex Courtroom:  The Annex Courtroom, often referred to as the Commissioners' Courtroom, is located in the Annex Building adjacent to the District Clerk's Office.  The Annex is often used for smaller hearings, uncontested family law matters and proceedings that do not require large numbers of witnesses or a jury panel.

As with the District Courtroom, the Annex has limited audio-visual applications and attorneys are encouraged to provide their own equipment.  Please coordinate the use of such items through the Court Coordinators or the Courts during Pretrial conferences.

Waller County

District Courtroom:  The District Courtroom in Waller County is equipped with contemporary acoustical and technology applications.  Attorneys are encouraged to become familiar with the use and operation of the technology prior to trial.  Coordinate the use and familiarization through the Court Coordinator.

The District Courtroom has an open WiFi bubble that will handle most applications.  In addition, the audio-visual suite is designed to operate with your own laptap and RGB-cable ready equipment.  An ELMO document presenter is installed in the Courtroom and operates within the overall tech suite.

The Courtroom is equipped with two, 8' X 10' drop-down video screens with 65,000 lumen projectors.  Counsel table and microphones are provided for counsel and witnesses.

Feel free to use your software applications (such as PowerPoint and jpeg photographs) with the system.  For those familiar with the audio-visual suites in the Harris County Civil Courthouse, Waller County has comparable, if not better, applications.

Please coordinate the use of such items through the Court Coordinator or the Court during Pretrial conferences.
