Standing Restraining Order

Both District Courts in Grimes County use the Standing Restraining Order set out as Addendum 6 to the Local Rules. This Order applies to every divorce suit and every suit affecting the parent-child relationship filed in Grimes County. Therefore, when filing a divorce, modification or other such action, the proposed Temporary Restraining Orders that would normally be filed for entry by the Court should be modified to reflect incorporation of the Standing Restraining Order. It is not necessary to set out all of the Family Code prohibitions in your proposed order so long as the Standing Restraining Order is incorporated into your proposal by reference.

On the filing of your action requesting a Temporary Orders hearing, counsel should provide a proposed Order that includes a Notice of Hearing. Counsel should coordinate the proposed hearing date with the Court Coordinator prior to filing your action so that you will know that the date is available and when the Temporary Orders hearing will likely be heard.
