Driving to Grimes County Courthouse

From Central or Northwest Houston:

Take US Highway 290/State Highway 6, West to Hempstead. Go North on Highway 6 to Navasota (approximately 20 miles). Take the right-hand exit for State Highway 90, toward Anderson. Follow Highway 90 North approximately 10 miles to Anderson. As you enter town you will see First National Bank of Anderson on your right. Proceed about 100 yards past the bank and turn right on Buffington. The Courthouse Annex is located at 100 West Buffington. The Courthouse is the large, stone structure on top of the hill that you can’t miss.

From North Houston or Conroe

Take IH 45 North to State Highway 105. Take State Highway 105 West, through Montgomery, approximately 30 miles, to FM Highway 1774. Follow FM Highway 1774 approximately 12 miles to the intersection of FM Highway 2819, and follow it approximately three miles to Anderson. Turn right on South Main Street at the Stop Sign, and see the Courthouse in the middle of town.

From Bryan/College Station

Take State Highway 30 East to the intersection of State Highway 90 in Roans Prairie. Turn right (South) and proceed seven miles to Anderson. After you pass the school and Post Office on your right, turn left on Buffington. The Courthouse Annex will be on your left and the main Courthouse in front of you.

From Madisonville

Take State Highway 90 South through Bedias, Singleton and Roans Prairie to Anderson. After you pass the school and Post Office on your right, turn left on Buffington. The Courthouse Annex will be on your left and the main Courthouse in front of you.
